Airplane Game
I would play a game where you just sit in a 12 hour airplane trip. And you could save whenever and come back, but the whole game is actually that 12 hours of sitting down.
At the start you walk to your seat with WASD, press E to sit down. You're in the window seat with your friend/partner sitting next to you. After sitting down, most of the game is just sitting there. Looking around with the mouse. and pressing E to interact with things.
Sometimes the person next to you talks to you and you get dialogue options. Flight attendants come by to offer food and drinks. And you get to pick, as a player, what you want. and you can eat your chosen food whenever you want in the game. Maybe press tab for items and eat it, press q every time you want to take a bite.
The pilot makes talks sometimes. When night comes, it's the most boring part of the game. You could basically sleep irl with the game playing.
And at the end, the destination. Your friend/partner stands up first and gets their stuff, and you stand up and get yours. You arrive at some other country. And when you stand up, you can walk out of the airplane. And thats when the game ends. credits roll.
Random events could be nice. Maybe another passenger somewhere vomits and the staff hurries over. It doesn't happen every playthrough, tho. Or if we want to go horror, you see a shadowy figure standing outside your window. on the plane wing. but only for a second. and your friend doesnt believe you. No matter what you say.
If we want to keep it subtle. What if when you're watching the random videos on the screen. It's really normal on the surface.You only really notice stuff if you look for it, or get bored and decide to rewatch. like theres some airplane safety video, but something is off. theres a man standing inside a plane, talking about safety. but if you look at the very back.You swear that you can see the head of your friend, or maybe the player character, sitting.(maybe you can see yourself through mirrors in the game). But a regular player wouldn't notice that. and maybe in that video. It cuts off to a different scene, and then a minute after it cuts back to the airplane. But the familiar head is now gone.
